A motorbike trip in Vietnam of more than 1000 km across rivers, mountains and forests awaits you. Departure to Pu Luong Nature Reserve by taking the Ho Chi Minh road in the middle of the relief and bucolic landscapes. We cross the villages of the Muong, the Thai with their traditional wooden houses on stilts and the water wheels that irrigate the rice fields.
Arrival
at the village Hieu which is located in the middle of the quiet oasis of Pu
Luong. Overnight at the Thai house on stilts.
Walk
in the mountains and rice terraces. Departure in the direction of Moc Chau,
through the reserve and the Mai Chau valley. The national road 6 then a small
road leads us to the village Doi. Overnight in a house on stilts.
Full North through villages, tea tree hills, cornfields on a winding road, we climb a pass and go down to the Da River forming a lake where we pass on the ferry.
After
the mountains and passes, arrived on the territory of Yen Bai province.
Overnight in a Thai village.
Via Mu Cang Chai, we cross the valleys and cross several passes to see the terraced rice fields before reaching the green valley. Visit of the Than Uyen market and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Nghia Lo, Mu Cang Chai, Than Uyen
We
cross the valleys of the Xuan Giao, Pho Lu, Bac Ngam regions to reach Bac Ha.
Discovery of the daily life of the Hmong flower ethnic group, famous for the
distillation of corn alcohol in the Ban Pho village. Night after a hearty meal
in a friendly atmosphere with the Tay family.
Visit the Bac Ha Sunday market which is the largest ethnic market in the region and will be a highlight of your motorbike trip to Vietnam.
Observation
of a marble sculpture workshop in Phuc An. Then we follow the Thac Ba lake
while passing by villages with their wooden houses on stilts (with latana leaf
roofs) and by the rice fields. Arrival at the Dao house with white pants and
overnight in their house on stilts.
Stroll
and swim on the Thac Ba lake, which impresses us with its turquoise water and
its countless green islets. Return to Hanoi to sleep in a hotel.
The cruise allows us to discover the bay of Lan Ha. The junk passes through a first floating fishing village. Tasting of a lunch based on seafood and fish.
We
can swim to the beach on Monkey Island. A boat trip (or kayak) takes us to
discover the Ca tunnel and a beautiful lake entirely surrounded by cliffs.
Night in the middle of the bay.
At sunrise we continue the cruise through the islets to Viet Hai village for a bike ride. Back to the boat, one last swim in the bay, and then the junk unloads us at the port of Ben Beo.
Ninh Binh is our next step. A few hours drive from Cat Ba is a place as grandiose and mysterious as Halong Bay on land!
Overnight
in a bungalow in Tam Coc.
In Tam Coc, many rivers meander between hundreds of karst peaks and bright green rice fields. Boat trip on the Ngo Dong River in the heart of these exceptional landscapes.
Then by bike, we reach the Bich Dong pagoda with a magnificent view of the surrounding area. Visit of the gigantic Buddhist pagoda of Bai Dinh (the largest in Vietnam) composed of the largest gilded bronze Buddhas in Southeast Asia of more than 100 tons.
Return
to Hanoi for a night at the hotel.
Day of discovery of Hanoi with a walk in the old quarter (the streets of the trades, Kim Ngan communal house, the old merchant house, the market of Dong Xuan and the Paul Doumer bridge). The visit passes through the Temple of Literature (first university in Vietnam). Lunch with a traditional Hanoi dish.
Visit of the Ba Dinh district, where the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, its house on stilts and the garden are located within the walls of the presidential palace, the Tran Quoc pagoda (the oldest of the Hanoi pagodas) and the Quan Thanh temple (worshiping the northern guardian genius with its imposing bronze statue weighing nearly 4 tons).
